About

Hi! I’m Myia and I love triathlon. I love training, racing, and talking about triathlon. I did my first sprint distance in 2009, with my two biggest fans (Claire, then 3, and my husband, Jeff) cheering like maniacs. trithislife.com/my-first-triathlon I immediately fell in love with pre-race nerves and finish-line smiles. For the last 14 years, triathlon has been a huge part of my life. I’ve used it to grow, heal, connect, remain healthy, and fill the weekend hours with fun. I’ve used it as an excuse to travel to amazing places. I have raced in tiny local races and Ironman World Championships. I’m being honest when I say that I love them all. I love who I am when I am chasing growth, and any race is an opportunity to do just that.

I’ve made all the mistakes one can make. I’ve left T2 with a helmet on, forgotten my timing chip, and tried something new on race day. On a few occasions, I’ve put together races that make me truly proud. Regardless of the results, I look back with gratitude because my body continues to allow me to act like I’m at summer camp multiple times a year.

I started this blog because I’ve always wanted to write, and post covid, I feel like we are a little disconnected. I wanted to create a space where people feel supported, inspired, and motivated to chase their dreams boldly. My hope is that you find helpful information and maybe a little laughter. I am not afraid to talk about the hard stuff, share my weaknesses, and go searching for answers to the things that are still a challenge (bike maintenance and tech anyone?)

I’m not yet sure where this little project will go but it feels exciting, scary, and fun so I’m going to run with it! Those feelings have never let me down. Let’s go!
